After the Christmas special, who do people want to be the new doctor?
I'm personally very glad it isnt David Morrissey as not only do I not think him right for the role, he has refused to sign for me in the past so do not like him for that reason! Although I will send him some pictures of him as Jackson.
For me there can only be one doctor and thats Tennant. So I think whoever it is it wont match his standard!
I'm just getting into Dr. Who after being a fan of the original series in the 1970's. Like you, I thought that there would never be a Doctor as good as Tom Baker, but the others since have all been good. They all have their own character to them.
Sorry, I don't know enough about English actors to make a guess who will be the next Doctor.

Sorry James, what do you mean by he did'ot sign for you? was that IP or VV or via agency.
Some people do have a problem, with signing autographs I found that with Billie Piper, wrote to her 3 times and not even a rts.
But thats also a BIG problem with panto this year, autos are a little thin on the ground
It was IP, he said he was busy and couldn't sign.
Billie is nice, I presume your mail never reached her, just got as far as her agent. I've met her and she was nice.
As long as they don't go with any stupid ones that have cropped up in the papers (Amy Winehouse as the first female Dr for example - god why?!?), then I'll be happy
I wasn't sure what to expect when I watched it at "the start" (with Christopher Eccleston), but I liked it and then got angry that he was only staying for one series! I was then expecting it to go downhill, but I've really liked Tennant too.
So I can't name anyone in particular I'd like to see, but if they stick with whatever made them hire Eccleston and Tennant, then it should be fine
I was under no allusions that the Eleventh Doctor would be David Morrissey, so I wasn't surprised by the fact that he wasn't. I loved it, Russell back on top writing form. Enough of the soppy stuff you want in a Christmas episode, without the utter nonsense you often get in them too. It kicked Kylie's ass, frankly.
I thought David Morrissey was brilliant in it. I've never met him, but three friends of mine met him last week after seeing him in In a Dark Dark House, and he was delightful. Signed many photos (play related & Blackpool related) and posed for photos with them all. James he was probably just as he said; busy. They can't always drop everything to accommodate us strangers
I'm not sure who I want to be the next Doctor. I'll leave that decision to the capable hands of Stephen Moffat et al.
Favourite: David Tennant IP, John Barrowman IP, Patrick Stewart IP, Catherine Tate VV. Newest: John Simm IP, Suranne Jones IP, Jonathan Groff IP.
I will hopefully get the chance to meet David (Morrissey) soon before he finishes on the 17th Jan, hopefully he'll be better than he was when I saw him last!
There were rumours about the 1st Black Dr Who which I think would be good, no idea who though. There were also rumours of the 1st black James Bond after Daniel Craig. One rumour was Adrian Lester from Hustle and I for one think he would be an excellent bond.

the xmas episode was rubbish. what a waste of time. It was so pointless. same same same
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but I'd love to know why you think this. In my eyes, it was great. And I'm curious as to how they could make it anything that wouldnt be "same same same" as you put it, beyond making him turn up and murder all the orphans, join up with Miss Hartigan and do the fandango while taking over the world. The Doctor saves the day, that's what he does lol
