Hey everyone one of my biggest idols is gymnast Shawn Johnson. In late July she is doing a Dancing with the Stars performance in Iowa. I found out that backstage passes are availible so do you guys think it would be crazy for me and friend to drive from Ohio to Iowa just to meet her? The trip is roughly a 10 hour drive and it would cost several hundred dollars. Opinions?

Well I guess if you & your friend are a fan of hers and you have the funds, then I'd say go for it! {thumb2} I personally wouldn't drive 10 hours just to meet one person, are you definate you'll be able to meet her and not just see her behind a roped-off area? it would be real bummer to drive that far and not even get close. I guess that's my advice, hopefully some of the other members will chime in on this! {thumb2}

I don't even go that far to see a concert...I wouldn't bother if it was a once in a lifetime thing, ya know? So...it's up to you...

as a huge shawn fan myself i say go for it, if i was able to meet her i would do it.

Not saying you're in the same situation as the stalker, but you may not want to mention how far you drove.

Make sure you have a backstage passed wrapped up before you leave. Contact her management and tell them how far you are going to drive and they might help you out.

I've driven 5 hours to meet someone, and 10 hours wouldn't be out of the question. Good luck.
