I have just put my 400th request for 2009 in the mail.
My usual goal is 10 a week or 500 a year, but since being disabled (Vision) and no longer able to drive or work (or least with great difficulty - I now have to use a magifying glass to read) I have more time on my hands. For example my goal was the same last (and every) year but I only sent a total of 222 requests.
This year however, I am being more productive and have sent 400 so far, and in five months have now recieved a totol of 80 autogrphs (not including doubles).
I would like to offer my thanks to all those that have helped with providing me with addresses as well as the database in general for my increaseing collection and great success so far this year. THANK YOU ALL!

Re: Requests so far
I can not say definately which one is best so far this year, but among the best (my favorites) are Frank Bank (Lumpy from Leave it to Beaver) I risked sending a photo previoiusly signed by Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell) and the risk paid off. Another would be Scott Kennedy the commedian who sent two signed photo's a signed CD and a note on his letter head. Other favorites would be Jeremy Hotz and Bruce Bruce-commedians. There have, of course, been many that I prize and a couple that are just there to complete a cast or some other little niche in my collection.
Oh, and I almost forgot I got Jerry Lewis earlier this year. I have wanted his autograph for years and after multiple attempts (over the years) got a great response.
Last year among my favorites were Peter Ceterea of Chicago, Gene Chandler (the Duke of Earl) and John Mayall of the Yardbirds and the Blues Breakers.

Re: Requests so far
Hey that's awesome! I wish I could think of 400 people to write to
When I was off sick from work, autograph collecting really helped me too. It's a great way of keeping busy and it's a relatively cheap hobby
I'm glad you get so much pleasure from it {thumb2}

I haven't sent out much this year, and have got(TTM), 6 so far this year.
