so what do other twi-hard fans think about rachelle being recast? I really like her. a lot. but am trying, i repeat trying to keep and open mind..

Well I don't really know much about the new Victoria actress so I cannot actually judge her until I either see her performance in Twilight or see her in something else.

However, I do feel that Rachelle played the role of Victoria very well and that she was well cast as the character. It seems a shame that she will not be continuing in the role as she did seem very commited to the series.

I don't really know the new actress that well, I'm trying to keep an open mind too, although it will be weird seeing someone else as Victoria.

What I dont get is that Victoria is not in Eclipse anyway. I mean in the book. New Moon was her last role in the book.

She is in Eclipse (I remember because I just reread it but she is in the book). But Eclipse is her last role in the Twilight series.

Yes, she is one of the major characters in Eclipse, as a villain.

I also think rachelle was PERFECT for the Victoria role, she fit the image in my head to a tee. But hopefully Bryce Howard is prepared for this, to bad there are so many people bad-mouthing her, and all the poor girl did was accept a role..

I do feel bad for Rachelle still, because she has stated numerous times that she was most looking forward to Eclipse, and preparing for the role.. oh well. as long as it's good, i'll be a happy fan. but i still can't wait to see Miss Lefevre in future roles, she is such a sweet person.

I know I feel bad for Rachelle too, but then again, she did wait to tell them she would need time off for Eclipse, so I do see Summit's POV too, but then it will be weird seeing someone else as Victoria since she played it so perfectly and she's played her for Twilight and New Moon.

I think she exercised poor judgement in waiting to tell them, though recasting the role does seem a bit harsh. Bryce Dallas Howard is a bigger name than Rachelle so it could be a tactical decision on behalf of Summit. Oh well, it won't hurt Rachelle's career - this time last week, a lot of people did not know who she was, now everyone knows the name Rachelle Lefevre.
