A fire at my office

About 2 1/2 weeks ago my business was destroyed by a fire. Luckily, nobody was hurt and we are already back up and running in a new location. But, now that the important things are taken care of. Its the little things that I am thinking about now...

-I lost some family mementos that I cannot replace. :(

-While most of my autographs are in my home. I had a few signed 8x10's there. Including some from some deceased actors.

-The biggest pain is my autograph list. Whenever I send out an autograph request. I write down the date and the address used. Since sometimes I get certain addresses. It was destroyed and I had no back up...Well not completely. A few months ago I signed up at Star Tiger and did put in a bunch of the addresses and dates. But, it was by no means complete. So now I am trying to remember everything...And I sent almost 100 requests.

-The one good thing is my custom card templates. As many of you know I make custom cards to send to the celebs. Since I use Paint Shop Pro and have a Mac at home. I had the program and all of the templates and cards I have created at my work computer....with no back up. Until about 1 or 2 before the fire. I saved all of the files to a portable hard drive. So they were all saved. Phew. To have to redo the ones I had made would have been a monster job.

But, the important thing is that nobody is hurt and my business is up and running which allows me the ability to continue with my hobby.

I'm sorry to hear about the fire. Terrible that you lost some of your autographs from deceased actors. :( I would be totally lost if I didn't have my request list. I have everything - sent Dates, received dates Addresses, Custom photo templates/files, My ENTIRE autograph collection saved on my flash drives. Everytime I get something new It get's scanned in and posted on here and stored securely. That way if something were to happen such as a fire I have the peace that all my important files are still accessible.
