any other decade than the 90s! I had to grow up through that crap
My personal favourite would be the 70's but objectively speaking it has to be the 50s or 60s, the birth or rock n'roll/The Beatles

For me it's the 50's and 60's. People still listen to the music from those days, and some songs can still even be current today. Just think about the majority of songs from the 90's and onwards, are people going to listen to those songs 50 or 60 years from now? Unlikely.

Lord knows about the 00's lol,I would say your right there but your dead wrong about the 90's.guilder1st wrote:For me it's the 50's and 60's. To elaborate on what I said in the earlier post, the 90's are the best decade for music because rock was still going strong , and hip-hop was at its peak. Pretty much every classic hip-hop album was released during the 90's (Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Infamous, Chronic etc etc), and rock was still a force to be rekoned with. You had the grunge(Nirvana, Pearl Jam etc), then the "Brit-pop" (Oasis, Blur etc) then the "post-grunge" ( Matchbox 20 etc). A new wave of punk emerged (Green Day, Blink 182 etc) not to mention other bands such as Metallica and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Then on the other side, it was the most glorious decade for so-bad-its-good pop music. Barbie Girl, Britiney Spears, Blue Daba Dee Da, Macarena, and the immortal "I want it that way" by the backstreet boys!

Maybe I misunderstood the original topic question. I do think the 50's and 60's had the most influence on the overall music scene in general. But I also agree with what you said, there definitely were a lot of awesome bands in the 90's, with a lot of good songs, although imo they weren't as influential as say Elvis Presley, Bill haley, The Beatles or Johnny Cash, just to name a few.Jaffer wrote:Lord knows about the 00's lol,I would say your right there but your dead wrong about the 90's.guilder1st wrote:For me it's the 50's and 60's. If we go for music I personally LIKE the best. It's 60's (Joplin, Doors, Elvis, Cash, Beatles) and 90's, I was a teen in the 90's. ;)

Late 60's-early 70's and early-mid 90's for sure!
I couldn't just choose a whole decade, because every decade has had its down years. Each time frame I chose radically changed Rock music for the better!
