Hollywood's prince and princess, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, have split. We've learned what's behind the "High School Musical" romance that got old...and who we think initiated the breakup. Twenty-three-year-old Zac Efron and 21-year-old Vanessa Hudgens met in 2005 on the set of "High School Musical." For the past five years Vanessa has gushed about having a partner in the onscreen business who understands her struggles and victories: "I think that we inspire each other," Vanessa has said. " having someone to grow with. "Vanessa also said that she thought Efron was "adorable" when they were first paired during the "High School Musical" auditions...but it sounds like Zac may be looking to experiment romance with some of the thousands of single ladies who also find him to be a total cutie. "Us" points out that just recently, Zac told "Details" Magazine that he has considered going the solo route. "Everyone tells me [to play the field]," Efron said. "I think a lot of guys would enjoy that. But I'm not really like that." Despite his touted loyalty, a source has confirmed that after half a decade, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have split. "It was mutual," the source revealed. "They have been together for so long. It just ran its course."
That's good. I hope they can still remain friends.
