VV question?

Unread post by pinkcupcake606 »

Hey! I'm a newbie, and just started getting interessted in fanmail.

:? I'm a little confused, and was wondering about Via Venue's. I think I know what they are, so I'm going to say it and I want you to please correct me if I'm wrong. Are they like temporary addresses for celebrities for like when they're at concerts and stuff? Do people send pictures there because its more likely that they'll be actually autographed instead of a copy? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I honestly don't know. Thanks!

Yes, VV is basically a temporary address when Celebrities or musicians perform at concerts. It's best to always send them photos VV since they don't typically bring any with them. sometimes they do, but I never take a risk. Never guaranteed a success with VV as some places won't pass along the mail and other times the celeb might have pre-prints on hand and just send one of those.

Hope that helps. {up}

We are all newbies one way or the other. You are correct about what VV is. I found that if the celeb is doing a one night stand you have a low chance of getting a success. I have found it about 50/50 as to how big a celeb they are and how many staff they have at the venue. I have also had successes by writing to the stage manager. If the celeb doesn't sign you have little chance of getting your stuff back. Always send a SASE. If it is play (not a concert) before you send ALWAYS check to see how long the celeb you want will be playing the part--as the saying goes when they are gone they are gone--your mail will most likely not be forwarded. However the general feeling is that if you can get to the celeb when they are at the venue, you have a good chance of getting them to sign. Hope this helps you. Please let me know if you send and the results, thanks.
