How did you start collecting?

I thought it would be fun to know how everyone started collecting.
I had always had a interest in autographs and my mom told she wrote to celebrities with fanmail. She never got anything back but, I thought it would be worth a try. I started Googling and found this website so, here I am!
Please comment- would love to hear your story!
