JK Rowling and Stephenie Meyer New Books

J.K. Rowling is writing a new book, this time for adults.

The writer behind the wildly popular "Harry Potter" series has finalized a deal with Little, Brown for her forthcoming novel, which will be available both in print and e-books. This will mark a departure from her previous publishers, Bloomsbury in the UK and Scholastic in the U.S.

The details of the book, such as title and the date it will be published worldwide, have yet to be revealed.

"She is one of the best storytellers in the world," said Little, Brown Publisher David Shelley. "…I am looking forward enormously to helping bring her new novel for adults to her fans and admirers, and to introducing her writing to new readers the world over."

Shelley will be the UK editor for the book, and Little, Brown Executive Vice President Michael Pietsch will publish in the United States, according to Galleycat. Rowling said in a press release that she looks forward to working with a new publishing house.

"The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher," she said.

Rowling fans are no doubt hungry for more from the author, as the "Harry Potter" series came to an end in 2007, nearly five years ago. This will be her first novel since "The Tales of Beedle the Bard," published first as a handwritten books in 2007, then as a standard edition in 2008.

So the busyness will not be ending anytime soon with all three projects currently ongoing. I'm hoping to get a little writing done at the same time, but writing on set has proved an elusive goal for me in the past year. I'm looking forward to this May, when I will officially be home for good and back here at my computer where I like to be best.
