Why has freedom become so expensive and controlled?

I'm hoping somehow Dennis Miller actually has the time to look this correspondence over because I feel that he is the proper launching pad for my and hopefully all forward thinking Americans that still have gray cell activity.
Dennis, Sir, or should it be Sir Dennis, you choose,
I will not claim to be a touting a plethora of knowledge or to even be slightly informed in or on current issues, however you seem to be all that I am not and more. With that in mind, would you please do me a favor a direct me to sites you may be aware of where I can hopefully ruffle some feathers and make people open their eyes a bit and possibly get them off their duffs to actually make a difference.
My only knowledge of what actually goes on around me in the world today is just my daily experiences, I tend to be a bit unsociable, in that I'm not much of a people person. However I do enjoy trying to teach others how to be better. At what you may ask? Please feel free to waste even more time that you will never be able to get back by Googling or @ YouTube pertaining to Dino Homsey.
I don't actually have real knowledge about what goes on in our government with the exception to my own experience in actually making it through a day. It appears that the people, the people have chosen to be representatives for the people, or have only been given extremely bad choices in which to choose from for these positions, are not doing anything to make this country better. It appears that they just argue amongst themselves on issues that don't need argument and they just make more laws about more things we can't do!
How is it the government feels it is justifiable to constantly dish out traffic, parking and misdemeanor infractions equaling thousands or tens of thousands of dollars on a daily basis to people who either have not really created a problem or victimized anyone or even actually caused anyone to flinch let alone be declared a civil or criminal act? And why is it the majority of those people most likely can not afford the fine that goes along with the infraction?
So now what happens? These people are forced to either really do something illegal to come up with the funds to accommodate the local municipality, and more that likely get caught and wind up where they were threatened to be put when they didn't meet their financial obligation to begin with, or they mooch off a friend or family member and burden more of society in an era in our country where a whole family has to bust their buns just to keep the roofs over their heads.
Did I mention threatened? I did, how is it that it is OK for municipalities to EXTORT people of their money in the name of justice?
" Yes Sir/Ma'am, because you were parked facing the wrong direction in your neighborhood, in front of your own home, you Must Pay a $125.00 fine, can you pay that today or part of it? we can put you on a payment plan for an additional $25.00......" Read the fine print; failure to pay on time will result in suspension of your license, a warrant issued for your arrest and when your caught driving your automobile while on that suspension, your automobile will be impounded and if you can not afford to get your vehicle back it will be sold..... WOW, Is That Not Extortion at its Finest? It would seem like it would be a better situation/solution to just find a loan shark, fail to repay and get your legs broken.
Are there actually still American citizens fighting somewhere and dying so that we here can realize democracy?
I'm just saying,........
I'll try to get more up to date on real current issues so that I am not some lame ass just bitching and not trying to do something. Although as I mentioned earlier, not being a real people person, I'd like to try to educate with facts, at least, so that we can get this country back in the power of the people, for the people, by the people,..... I read that somewhere...
