The elephant in the room ..can this site be better?

Unread post by DiamondDave »

By better, I mean friendlier, no spam, trolls & bullies dealt with etc etc.

I'm sure many would agree that this site has unlimited potential, but the above issues are not addressed, and create a less than stellar experience for many users. We know there is an Admin and moderators, so why is nothing addressed? I for one will volunteer for a mod position if it would truly allow people that care to make this a better site for all of us.

I love posting my successes here, and have been blessed with many successful opportunities from other users. Unfortunately, those with little respect for other users make this an unfriendly site for many.
Trolls be gone!

Like those who consistently post ad homs like "Arrogant troll" and make no effort to contribute to the conversation at hand?

Are those the people with "little respect for other users" to whom you're referring?

Little tip: just because someone says something that you don't want to hear doesn't make them a troll. However, I do agree with you that the site would be better if you didn't go around belittling others & starting fights with namecalling.
WaltG123 != WaltG123. & WaltG123,

There's a difference between blue text & a URL, ****. Those who can't read will be added to my ignore list.

Awww, how cute. Someone who thinks that people will be dumb enough to believe that they're me, despite the blatant period & completely different post numbers.

And, of course, the obvious fact that if, if it were me, I would've edited the post, not replied to it. Not to mention it's not necessarily true that "nobody but her will know why she signed it twice" & I'm smart enough to know that.

Not to mention the grammatical mistakes.

But, please, carry on. You can help me find more people to add to my ignore list. I don't need to be bothered reading posts by users that are stupid enough to believe that these 2 accounts are the same. I appreciate the help in weeding out the ****. So thank you. :D

My idea of a troll is someone who consistently posts and posts and posts. And when they get to 150 posts in 2 weeks is real trolling.
Obvious these type of trolls that post for the sake of it and constantly argue and use the :roll: :roll: (roll eyes smiley constantly at other people's posts) definitely is a troll.

Don't you think so Walt? :) Or do you disagree with me and now you want to add me to your ignore list too? :roll:

I completely agree with you. There are far too many people who seem to enjoy making snarky comments about why someone is an idiot because they want a certain person's autograph or resorting to name calling just because someone doesn't agree with them. Or starting/joining an argument just to keep thinks stirred up.

It's my understanding that the only real moderating being done is by Admin. I've offered to help my being a Moderator but he's never taken me up on my offer. I think most of the Moderators have either left or been reduced to moderating in name only.
