David Attenborough documentary on Polar Bears

Unread post by Love_Polar_Bears »

In 2006 Attenborough did part of a documentary on polar bears. The Documentary was "Planet Earth, The Complete Collection" episode 6, "Ice Worlds", on Netflix. These Animals are facing extinction, and he basically filmed 1 while it died of starvation, and wounds from a walrus. I can't help but think he could have, and should have done something to save it. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but he could have had 1 of the walruses killed to let the bear feed. Walruses aren't endangered, 1 won't be missed, but even 1 polar bear gone is bad for them.
I have a lot of respect for the man, and always loved watching hid documentary films, but I really think he should have done something to help the bear to survive, even if he hadn't been there to witness what happened, and it would have died anyway. He was in a position to help the animal survive, that would have been better than almost filming its death. I don't think he actually filmed the death, but he did show it dead. I'm sure if the bear could have eaten, he would have been able to survive his wounds, or at least had a better chance to survive. He was just too starved and tired to survive the wounds without some help I just believe there are times when extreme measures should be taken, and rules broken, to save an endangered animal!
I still think he's a great man, who has done great work, I just think he should have saved the Polar Bear, or at least tried!
