I just e-mailed one of my favorite actresses through her official website to say how much I enjoyed her work.

THEN she e-mailed me back FIFTEEN minutes later saying thank you for such a thoughtful e-mail and is more then happy to mail me a autographed photo of herself. I didn't even make the e-mail about the autograph, I went on and on about her work. Mind you she's not famous since she mostly did guest appearences on various shows in the 80's-90's but who cares!

I feel so honored that she e-mailed me back personally, which is such a rare thing from celebrities these days.

That's cool. I too have started emailing back and forth with a few celebrities. They're not famous but they're very sweet and kind. Very nice. Love it when I see a response from them

I have email an author Lisa Yee a while ago...and one time I was like, he, can i have ur autogrpah, and she sent it to me....thats how i got started collecting!!

And when you receive the autograph, make sure you send a 'thank you' note back. I always do this with email requests as its much cheaper and convenient to say the least, but also shows your appreciation for the celebrity who has sent you an autograph out of their generosity.

As you might have seen, I received a signed photo from Elaine Hendrix last week through an email address. Once I received it, I sent a quick 'thank you' note back, and yesterday I received this nice response: -
