Enquiry about US stamps

Unread post by superletterfan »

Hi Guys,

Just wondering whether you could give me some advises about buying US stamps. I feel it is too expensive to buy IRC every time, and it could be better if i can have some US stamps.

Can i can buy lots of US stamps with discount? or i have to pay the exact face value of those stamps.

I currently find this place to buy http://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores/ ... UsageId=-1

Are there any better place you could tell me?

As i am in Australia, how much should i put on the envelop to cover a general international return cost?

Thx!

To send from the US to England or Austrialia..it's 94c/ for a legal-sized envelope.

I've put on 94c/ and a 'Forever'/42c/ stamp when sending off requests in larger envelopes and have had no problems. So probably about $1.20-$1.40 I believe.

Thanks for your reply. Did you pay for the stamps with the exact face value, or can you buy it somewhere with discount?

GREAT question. THe USPS has not been favorable to me lately either. I can't find IRCs ANYWHERE! I'd do some trading with you (which I suggest you try to do!), but I can't at this time or for a while. Sorry!

You can try eBay. There's a trade forum on here but people are very unwilling to trade U.S stamps it seems - I've been trying for ages!
I currently get mine from philately shops though, you can use old mint stamps from any year, as long as it adds up to the correct value. {up}
AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

I have searched on Ebay already, but there is no shop which is selling normal stamps currently like the USPS online store.

All of them are selling old ones, or special ones, the price is normall higher than the face value, which means i have to pay more for those stamps.

Are there any shops you could recommend to me?
