getting 'guests' to register
i think it's important to get more users on fanmail.biz, and i think one way of making guests register is to hide the subforums from guests and make it users only. any thoughts/ideas/comments about this?

How about make it so only members can access the address?
Then surely alot more people would sign up, but that would mean alot of non active user's

i find that having this many people is just fine. Sure, the gams may be better with more people or you may see more successes but i think that it is fine right now.

I think that's a great idea! Sub-forums like Request a Celebrity Address and Feedback should be hidden from the public, and they should have to register like the rest of us to gain access to it. I think this would encourage more people to actually be a part of our site instead of just observing from the sidelines

AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

thanks for agreeing with me sham

and exactly, we want more members to be active on the forum which is why request a celebrity address and feedback should be private. if guests use the search then they can't see the successes other people have had and would be forced to register. i've been to other forums where you have to register just to see the posts.ROB123 wrote:How about make it so only members can access the address?

Re: getting 'guests' to register
I actually sorta changed m mind after reading everone elses opinions. I now agree that it will be better if we get more members but give access to different things by the amount of things they post. Hopefully they would not spam for it but mabe saying:
Joining=looking at fanmail.biz addresses and access to Movie Set Addresses and Filming Locations forum and the Autograph Collectors forum
25 posts on fanmail.biz=posting your own successes and looking at other feedback
50 posts= full access to fanmail.biz
i would like comments about my idea because i know it is not perfect but i want more members now.

A few ups and downs here.
More Spam and Inactivity. Some people will not even post.
Good side is some will be active!
But overall, I say yes. What harm will it do?
