getting 'guests' to register

I think that's a great idea! Sub-forums like Request a Celebrity Address and Feedback should be hidden from the public, and they should have to register like the rest of us to gain access to it. I think this would encourage more people to actually be a part of our site instead of just observing from the sidelines

Half the people on the site have one or none posts, and arent even active, so all they'll do is register then gain access to the forums and not have to post. And what does that do with fanmail.biz? gets one more member that doesnt post? ? i think this is a bad suggestion, sorry. Addresses should always be free, along with checking out successes. Next are u gonna want us to pay for our membership?

I belong to a site where you DO pay, and they take it a helluva lot more seriously then the people do at this site. I bet half the people who come on here daily have a address request and are ust waiting for someone to ask it. Why not help someone out? Registering takes two seconds, if people are really THAT lazy, then they shouldn't even be in this hobby.

Honestly, I like the way things are. If people reading the forums find the topics interesting and want to join, they will. I think making them join might just chase them away.

Bump. I still feel very strongly about this, as I think it would help us all out by hearing more feedback and getting requests filled.

You could hide addresses from non-members, but this will solve nothing. They could make an account in less then a few minutes and have access to everything. The majority of of "members" on Fanmail have never made a single post! There must be some way to deter people from making an account just to access addresses. It's time to brainstorm people!
