I really like this forum and I am thinking of selling one of my preprints but since i have not been a member long enough nor enough posts
Why do you have to have 100 posts and be a member 3 months
Why cant you just sell whenever
thanks

To (try to) stop people scamming others and ripping them off.

How does having 100 posts have anything to do with that

In theory a lot of people who sell fakes (or who want to rip people off) just sign up and sell in their first few posts. Not all of them want to post a lot just to try and scam people, so the 100 post limit reduces that.

I can kind of see that but I think there might be better solutions

There are no perfect solutions, just compromises really. Personally I'd like to see anyone who has more than one active account (without good reason, and matched by IP address) banned from selling but that would create too many problems with people who use AOL, for example, as they share IPs.
The main problem with the rules though is that it only seems to apply to people who are MAKING the sell/trade threads - anyone can reply and then buy/trade, so there is a massive flaw there.

I think that there should be one specific moderator for most topics
There can be more but atleast one in each topic that only moderates that topic
Just more protection by mods and the admin
Also I dont think that restrictions should be put on people buying autographs
I was coming to this site for a long time before I became a member and I have been collecting autographs for even longer just not ttm so I know alot about autographs
Why should I or anybody else be restricted on anything on this website?

The main reason is because your (and I mean "your" in general, not oyu specifically) time as member here is all you have to go on as far as building trust goes.
If someone comes on here and in their first post says "Ive been collecting for 5 years, blah blah blah, I'm selling ABCDE", do you take their word for it? Or would you rather sbuy off someone whos been ana ctive member of the site for a fair period of time?

That is a good point but most scammers wont come here. I just heard of this place 6 months ago so why should a scammer come here when to the naked eye, it doesnt even look like a website to buy and sell things.
especially when they have ebay (and other websites strictly for buying and selling) for that
You want to talk about building trust when some members claim they have only been collecting for 3 or 4 years but they have recieved over 1000 autos? Should we ban them when they are obviously lying? I really dont think its fair

I have been collecting for a year. I have around 60 autographs. And I only send one or two requests per week. If a user send 5-10 a week they could easily collect that many in that amount of time. Even more so if the user happens to live, say, in London, where they can attend many events and get them IP.
