Time Minimum for Moderators

As a former TM for over 6 months, and since the excuse that I could not become one was, well for several reasons, but the one I kept hearing was there's too many Mods. Solution:
Why are there so many Moderators on this board who have joined anywhere between September through Now? Why even allow a person to become a Mod., even a TM, before they've been on this board for atleast 5 months-ish? To top it off, plenty of them have received vastly low successes - so what exactly qualifies them to be a Mod?

I agree with this.
I won't mention names, but there is a TM currently who joined sometime in February or early March.
I think that's ridiculous they haven't even been a member for 3 months!

I completely agree, I have seen many new TM's, some even after just 2 1/2 months of being on the forum. The user in question didn't have any previous knowledge in the field of collecting and I have found the user often rude and dismissive at times to new and old members alike. On the other hand there are many new TM's I have found very approachable and helpful.
I have always found you -Greg- incredibly helpful. You have answered so many of my questions and always made it clear that you are happy to spread your vast collecting knowledge.

Thankyou Pheobe. It took me 7 months to become a TM, all to be told that I can't get on anyone's team, I'd have to wait to be put on a team, wait some more time, then finally a moderator -- so I just stopped doing it. Unfortunately, whatever sort of system goes on around here isn't too good for this kind of stuff!

That's weird that a GM would not allow you to join their team. While a GM has the right to say yes or no to you, you should've been put on a team. Are you sure you asked? Or was it you just didn't want to be on a team because there have been TMs who just did not want to be put on a team.
Anyways. We are currently working out a system for the TMs and Moderators and there being some type of limit/minimum.

What a complete joke. A member for 12 months, has just TEN POSTS, only 5 of them in 2009, yet is a TM?

Member for ONE MONTH, has just 11 posts and is a TM.
Yeah, "great".
