I also wanted to add this link...I just noticed it:

As you mentioned earlier Chrissy, Andy had been getting into a bit of an argument with Joeay. I think the negative reputation point he gave for Joeay is a bit out of line. I think that negative point should be removed. What does everyone else think?
It's obvious that Andy isn't using the reputation system fairly.

nowandagain,
I completely agree, that reputation point doesn't have anything to do with what joeay was commenting on!! I think Andy is holding a grudge it seems against Joeay!! Just because he disagrees with this member give him no right to absue the reputation system and use it as a way to get back to people!!
A sticky should really be made stating that the reputation is not to be abused and how and when to use it!! There are SO many members abusing it and causing a lot of uneeded work for Moderators!!
Thank you for bringing that up!!
Chrissy

[agree] with your comments Chrissy.
Andy definitely has a grudge against Joeay. It's unfair to Joeay to put up with Andy's comments and negative reputation.
This reputation points system should not be abused. A sticky stating the conditions in which reputation points are given should be set up.

jpd- I dont really think that would work, as it would mean that if we help people out, they will not be able to say thank you with a point.
Andy has been causing alot of trouble to us, as well as on other forums that I am associated with. He causes arguements, makes protests, types in HUGE writing and generally gets on out nerves.
I think that it is totally unfair that we should have to suffer and consider leaving the boards becuase of one member.
Can we not just ban scaarr and Andy316 all together, then this will be forgoten, and we can all go back to the way we used to be- a happy, friendly forum.

while banning them would stop them for a minute or two, its easy to re-register with fanmail and start again. the only way is banning the IP address which would cause a whole new can of fish to be opened, given AOL's dynamic designation of IP addresses (although what the hell that says). if numerous people post using the same IP address then each of them would then be prevented from logging into fanmail thus preventing legitimate users from enjoying fanmail.
maybe we should just bombard users like this with negative points every time they do this - 3 negs for every positive do you think?
