Hey all!

I'd like to apologize for not adding people to the draw in the Feedback section, I wasn't able to do that fot a few past days and I can't do it anymore because my Mod Fanmail toolbar contained some kind of a computer virus or something and I had to remove it. When I tried to install it again, the virus showed up again and my dad has forbidden me to install it (my laptop is broken and I work on our family computer, otherwise I'd install it on my laptop). So I'm very sorry, but I can't help in Feedback section until I find a way to istall the toolbar without bringing that virus into our computer .

There's a way to add people without the toolbar- as long as you had the ability to add them before. I would make a pictorial guide- but I am not sure Admin would appreciate me doing it (as it may allow everyone to add feedback and open up a whole new jar of worms). Do you know what the exact virus/trojan or w/e the thing was, I have a feeling it wasn't that... but mistaken as such (might have to do with the fact that it doesn't supply secure updates, or that it is regularly sending and requesting information from a remote server).

**The only issue I had with the toolbar when using it, was that when the site went down- it made havoc of my internet explorer (opening multiple tabs trying to update the bar from the site)

I cant add people anymore either. I havent for awhile. The toolbar gave me a big virus everytime I installed it. I finally gave up on it.

Same with me! My anti-virus programme will not allow me to run the fanmail.biz toolbar at all, and somehow it also interfered with my university's website. Thus I disabled and deleted it straight away. :neutral:

I've lost everything three times when my computer crashed because of the toolbar. I'd really like to help add people but I can't keep risking it because I'm not the only person in my house who uses this computer..

This is very worrying, I hope this get solved soon - it would be terrible if all of our Moderators' computers crash!
I haven't been able to add members for a week now due to a bad signal (I'm on vacation). It seems I have to delete my toolbar - I can't risk a virus on my laptop! :neutral:

Its been almost a year since I could add anyone. Everytime I try to download the toolbar my computer crashes. The last time I tried I got so many viruses, even the geek squad couldnt undo the damage .

Im a noob at computers, can you please tell me how i can delete tool bar for when a virus comes. Or should i delete it now because i dont really want my computer to get stuffed!

to delete the toolbar click the start icon

then click control panel

if your using windows xp, click add/remove programs
if your on vista, click programs and features

them find the fanmail toolbar on the list, and use the uninstall option

Mharms idea is quite good, well done on that. Sadly untill I get a new laptop I can't risk anything, this is a lent computer from an Internet friend Hopefully in the new year (and hubby gets a new job after woolworths closes down ) I can get a new one and try my best to help
