Making up Successes

Unread post by lutherjw »

Hi,

Member rob234111 recently posted a "Emily Browning Success". In the letter that is supposedly from Emily, it is mentioned that she likes reading his books.

The Library of Congress website (http://loc.gov) lists most of the books written and their author. If you do an author search for Robert Watson on this website none of the results are fiction as the "letter" suggested.

Also, there are no results on http://www.books.google.com

Also, The names "Cedric" and "Lily" are the names of popular characters in the "Harry Potter" series.

Is it possible that rob234111 made up this "success"?

Thanks,

Yeah, ozzman is right, although it is still slightly suspicious.

Plus there is no info on how/where to purchase his book on his website.

On the page about his books on the site, all he has included are the chapter/book titles:

http://www.freewebs.com/cedricmantichoras/thebooks.htm

However, I am not saying he is lying! He could be completely truthful :)

hmm I just did a google search on the name CEDRIC MANTICHORAS, which his website says is in the title of every book he's writing and found no matches. also I looked up the publisher he list, TRAFFORD PUBLISHING CO. its a self publisher, something about publishing on demand, but I cant find anything linking him to them(except his website) so, what Im saying is I have no clue

Hi guys,

Thanks for your input. I would like to say a couple more things. If Emily Browning supposedly read his book, why on his website does it say that he hasn't even finished it yet? :? Also, in the FAQ section of his site it says that he would want Emily Browning to play Lily. I don't mean to call him a liar but this is very suspicious.

I just realized that several people in his guestbook put things such as "I can't believe you're making me do this" and "You're sitting right next to me."

^^ Sorry I just saw where it said it was released on November 1st.

Most of the guestbook entries are from his own IP address! He's posted several times saying that he is a movie star such as Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and Tom Felton and that they enjoyed the book. Sound familiar?
