Hi all
She sent me another PM asking to become a mod. She explained that she now has 55 posts, but doesn't know if that's enough.
Let me know what you think.

P.S.- The flu has lifted and I am finally back in school.

She sent me one like that too, and my reply was not at this time but maybe after a few months and that she should just keep posting on the boards and getting more experiance.
I have recieved 3 PMs from her as well.

Hey there guys!!
I really don't think she should become a moderator just yet. All the posts i've seen of hers are random responses and not actual advice or any help. I think until she shows that she knows what she is talking about and has the devotion and responsiblity to be a moderator she shouldn't be one! She's also PMed me about the position and i have told her she needs more experience and to show that she can help not only members out but other mods to make work around here equal and easier for everyone!

Good advise Chrissy. I was going to tell her no anyway, I just though I'd bring her to your attention.

Hey everyone,
I also got a PM from her!! Multiple PMs. I don't understand how she'd be able to help if she became a mod, so that's why I agree with you all in saying to wait and once again say no!! She needs a LOT more experience than just 55 posts, like Chrissy said!!
Chrissy, I think that's some real good advice!!! Thanks!!! {thumb2}

Hi guys
I don't know if this will be of any help
What I would do if you are unsure, is to ask a prospective moderator which area they wish to moderate.
More often than not they they seem to say Feedback! However it is the other areas in which we need more moderators
I would just ask them what they feel they would be able to contribute to the forum section they choose, and more often you will be able to tell from this if they are going to be helpful.
When moderators first join I would suggest they start on one area first. That way we can see how relible they are before they take on more sections!
Generally speaking though, it is the quality of the postings which is important rather than the number, but I know all you mods are pretty good judges of character, so just go with your gut feeling - but always run it by each other first
And don't promise anything - Admin always has the final say

She sent me another PM saying she has 80 posts. What does everybody else think?

Hey there,
I still haven't seen much help given to members of the forum by her. Doesn't matter if you have 80 or 8,000 posts, what matters is how you help others, what you contribute and whether or not your able to take the on teh responsiblity in my opinion

Yeah she sent me one too stating that she has done 80+ posts. But I haven't seen her helping out much versus just giving commments like "Cool Success" and so on. I don't know how else to tell her no, she is really starting to bug me know. In total I have recieved over 5 PM's requesting to become a mod.
I have already told her she needs to help others out and gain more experiance but what else can I tell her now since she obviously isn't getting it? Any suggestions?
