Hey guys,

Just a quick note to let you know that I asked Admin whether it was possible to restrict postings to "members only" for a while to try to stop the spam postings.

He has agreed to do this for the "General Discussion Forum" where most of the postings seemed to be yesterday night

Until further notice you will have to be a full member in order to post on that area of the forum.

I think that will help, but I saw 2 the other day coming from a reg user, the name looked like random letters, I reported the user to admin and the user was deleted, but it looks like the bots can still get in :x

Good point jdp3577, but I think it is a lot less likely

After all, in order to get a regular membership you need to provide a valid email address, and then respond to the email you receive to activate your account.

There will always be ways around it, but I much prefer having to delete the odd one or two, instead of the 50+ that I had to do today.

And if you think I am joking about 50+, I am not . . . .

I beleive you you about the 50+ I got tired trying to report them. but I just looked at the memberlist, I just looked at the last 2 pages and check this profile out, it stuck out

I know, we use the term "guest" in the loosest possible sense right?
I think as jdp3577 says, some will still get through but this should help keep the bulk of it out
