Hi all

My grandma just died about 3 hours ago. So if I don't get on for a some time. It probably has something to do with her death.

We can prepare, and prepare all we want, but the truth is we are never fully prepared for it when it happens.

I just wanted to say that, I will be on as much as I can, but I have a feeling that there may be a time frame where I won't be on.

Just thought I should let you know.

Daniel

That's so sad to hear that your grandmother has passed away. I know it can be a difficult time, so take all the time you need and don't worry too much about the forum for now. We can take over any responsibilities that may arise.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Hi Daniel :|

On occasions like this words really do not seem enough.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your grandmother, I lost my own back in 1998, and I still think of her most days. I am sure it will be the same for you - perhaps not in a happy way at present, but in time I am sure you will be able to look back on your time with her in a fond way. . . . .

I thought I would just leave you with a short poem I read at my own Nan's funeral (it was subsequently read at the Queen Mother's Funeral - nothing to do with me though  )

It brought me great comfort and I could almost hear my own Grandmother reading it to me:
  • You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live for yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she's gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
God bless Daniel, and be strong for yourself and the rest of your family. And remember, if you ever need to talk you have a friend here.

Hey Daniel,

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know that it's very tough because I have lost all of my grandparents. My dad's parents died before I was born and my mom's parents died when I was a very young child. You and your family have my deepest sympathies.
