The latest on the little one

Hi everyone!

I wanted to write an update on the baby since my last few visits. She's looking great, with only one little problem...since 31 1/2 weeks she's been breech :(. The better news is that my thyroid levels have stayed within normal for quite some time now and my blood pressure and pulse have been very good since switching OBs.

So now some very big decisions are going to be left to this little girl. I went in for my first chiropractor manipulation to get her to hopefully turn around. I was quoted an 80-90% success rate with it, so I'm really hoping that she's turned already (she's been crazy active today after the adjustment). Right now it looks like I'll probably schedule a version (manual turning of the baby...very painful) for next week and see if she turns in the meantime. Even if the version fails, I can still continue on with the chiropractor and hope that works out. The only hold-up was that if my water breaks, I can't have the version (the baby needs the fluid for all of the pushing around). So it makes sense to get it over with sooner, rather than later. Also, the version only has approximately a 50% success rate with my circumstances. So hopefully between both methods we'll get her going the right direction soon :).

Also, on Tuesday I had another ultrasound which told us that she's approximately 6 lbs. 11 oz., considerably smaller than my son who was born at 38 weeks, 5 days at 9 lbs. 1 oz. So that's comforting since I was really hoping for a VBAC this time around. So keep us in your prayers and thoughts for a healthy birth and hopefully I'll have pictures to share very soon!!!!

Ok, well, I'm scheduled for a version at our local hospital next Thursday at 11:30 a.m. I'm REALLY hoping it doesn't come to that and my new chiropractor can do what he does best. He seems really confident that she'll turn and has plenty of time to do so. Now it's up to me and the baby to try to make sure I don't go into labor until at least next Thursday! Otherwise it'll just be chiropractic techniques that I can do until I go into labor or break my water. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she's already flipped since things feel REALLY different already. Oh, and I'll have another update next Tuesday when I have another ultrasound to check and see what's going on in there. So please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me and the baby {up}!

Thanks everyone :). We found out on Tuesday that the baby is STILL breech (with her rear down). So I go in tomorrow for the cephalic version. With the ease that I can push her around with, I'm pretty positive that my doc will have no problem in getting her faced around the right way pretty quick. I'll admit I'm VERY freaked out about the pain factor, but with it only taking 5-10 minutes, it's time for me to face the "pain" music ! If the version doesn't work, either we'll be repeating it or scheduling a C-section for my due date and hoping that the chiropractor can still get things going. Anyway, thanks for the positive thoughts and I'll let everyone know when I know something ;).
