Member kenzie8201 (Melanie) began PMing me today with questions about the Sale/Exchange forum. Some of her messages were a bit rude...

The first PM from her was:

Hello,

I just have a quick question... How come we are not allowed to post about bad traders? That is insane to me... That means there could be people trading on your forum that many people have been ripped off by, how is right? Star Archive actually has a section where after you've done a trade you get positive feedback or negative so you know what you are dealing with. Of course we take our chances when trading but when there is evidence of someone being a bad trader I feel we have the right to read it.

Also, I am still having major problems with Hayley and have tons of pm's to prove it, but I am not going to until I talk to her again.. I have been waiting over 3 months and she has actually completely lied a couple of time to me. I just want my autograph and shutting down other people who may have been ripped off is completely and utterly ridc to me...

The reason the rules were put into place was to keep people from making false claims about a person and ruining their reputation. If you contact myself, admin, or TheCollector with specific details, the user in question will be warned or banned from the Autographs for Sale/Exchange forum if we can prove that they are at fault.

As for Hayley, I know that she has been sick for a while now. I'm sure that as soon as she is better, she will send you your autograph(s).

Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.

Ok that does makes sense. I do understand the reasoning behind what you're saying, even if I don't agree with it. You should not really defend people though when you don't know the circumstances. Hayley has been better for weeks now. She actually took a trip and she told me she had sent my stuff and later turned around and said she hadn't sent it. I have 100% trade feedback. I am a Star Archive member and I have done dozens of trades. I have even done a successful trade with Hayley in the past but this time she has been rude and untrustworthy. Yes, I do have proof.

You know what though? People do not ruin other people's rep's for fun... Why would someone only attack that person? There are reasons for it and I have seen the various compliants in trade/sell forum and they have all been completely founded and yet they still continue to be allowed to sell obvious forgies on your site. People sell Studio Fan Mail pre-prints as authentic - its awful and I've seen it too many times on this site. I do not know why we can not be warned about certain people if they aren't making good on deals... Oh and Hayley admitted to not sending to Bradley or Charmaniey for various reasons... I'm very frustrated with this whole situation. Anyhow, I have told you how I felt about the situation and I understand that Hayley is a moderator (feels like everyone has that title) and I will work this out with Hayley by myself but I am still very upset that you are quieting people who have concerns about members ripping them off. It doesn't seem like people help people out anymore.

Think about it, if you sold someone an autograph, and they said that you never sent it, but you did, would you want that message just floating around? After it has been confirmed by a moderator of the Sale/Exchange forum, we will post about it in that forum.

I think you should not be so worried about the 100 moderators that are on the site. There are members as well that you should care about. It is a shame that this site has decided to run like this.

I have sold/traded MANY MANY items and have never been accused of anything.. Why? Because I have never ripped anyone off. I never see people slandering people's name for the fun of it. If more than a couple people complain than there is an issue. You don't seem to really take any of this seriously.

It doesn't matter anymore, I see why there are so many people on other sites talking about being frustrated at the lack of organization and all the cliques on this site... If you are not a moderator it seems you are no one... Although not sure why there are so many moderators - it's insane.

You are free to believe what you want to believe, but myself and other moderators go out of their way to make every member feel welcome.

I have told you that I would look into it soon.

The rules are there to protect the members & moderators. We don't want anyone to be forced into leaving the forum because someone falsely accuses them of not selling/trading fairly.

I do appreciate your quick replies. I get frustrated because there are WAY too many moderators on the forum. I don't understand it at all... It feel like everyone gets that title for no reason whatsoever. I wish there were less titles so you would know who the real moderators that you need to talk to are...

Hayley has been a good trader in the past but after she got sick and got a job she seems to have just decided not to honor her trades. We all have things that happen in life and I was VERY patient with her when she was sick but it's been a month and I'm getting really frustrated. I traded her a Winona Ryder autograph and if you know anything about value she is easily worth $100 - she goes for over $200 at auction on Autograph World. So, you can see why I would rather not jsut lose it. If she would return it that would be fine or send me what she has agreed to for it. I don't even know that I want contact with her anymore because I no longer trust her at all... If I've been ripped off that is life - I'll deal with but not being able to warn others seems really wrong to me... People don't slander others for fun. I've been collecting 9 years now and I have traded dozens of times and have never seen people slandering people about trades unjustly. If there is more than one complaint it is usually founded.

Thanks for hearing my complaint. As I said I understand why you are doing I just think it is a very big disservice for the members who are trading....

Well, we'll see what she says when she replies...

I tried to explain to her about the moderators as well as contacting us if something isn't being done according to the rules.

She continues to reply to me, saying that I am rude for getting involved, and I am rude in what I say, she claims that she is getting tired of being run around for no reason, after I told her to contact admin.

I'm not going to deal with her anymore...let Ian or admin deal with it.

I'll post her PM's when I get home (at school now, and class is ending)
