The Moderators usually provide topics of interest to their forum. They will pose questions of relevance to continue a discussion or redirect a discussion if it drifts off topic.

The Moderators may also provide some technical assistance to users less familiar with the forum (to post a picture, add an avatar...)

Moderators have the ability to approve messages for post if they so desire. They may also delete messages that they find to be offensive or off topic (rude comments - personal or otherwise). Abusive, defamatory language, or any other kind of unwarranted suggestive remarks can be removed by the Moderator without any notification.

Update: Moderators are now allowed to give "Warnings" to the users of their forum. After 3 warnings the user will be banned.

Hi tinker_mel

On the forum index, there is red text saying 'posts reported by users' - I've had a look but nothing really seems to be wrong with them and it's been the same 12 posts for a couple of days...

These posts have already been deleted.

do we do anything about these?

I don't believe so ... a while back Ian said the forum was hacked and moderators cannot warn anybody anymore...

Who were you going to warn?

These users are most likely "spam bots" - programs designed to automatically post such links and pictures. A warning would mean nothing to them - they are simply computer programs.

If you see any of those porn/spam posts, please delete them and PM either Admin or I with the member name so we can remove them too
