Are you talking about with nowandagain's avatars? They look fine to me...

I think Fatima is referring to the backgrounds of the "nowandagain" avatars, they don't blend in. They are still not transparent as far as I can tell Ozzman's are also still not transparent :neutral: They show up as OK on alternate posts - since the colour scheme is dark grey and then light grey alternately for posting

For the purposes of the forum I think they need to be saved as transparent gif files

e.g - problem . . .

I'm a bit puzzled ... could you possibly be using an outdated browser? I know IE 6 doesn't support transparency in PNG images, but IE 7 does. The latest versions of Firefox and Opera also support PNG transparency....

Although saving them in GIF format would be more universal, it would also lower the overall quality of the images.

Are the Cernan team avatars showing up correctly for you?

Sorry to double post, but I saved them all as GIF to compare to the PNG versions. The difference is quite noticeable in my opinion...

Yep I do use IE6 as I just don't get on with IE7

Unfortunately though it appears that more people still use 6 than 7 so will presumably have the same problem - Check this info: http://w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

I understand what you mean about the gif/quality problem though

Maybe we'll leave this one to Admin to decide

Yes, Im aware of that. But I think that it could work with the grey frameline around the avatars. Without them it would just look weird I think.
