macaoidh - new moderator? [Please read and discuss]

Hi everyone

macaoidh has asked to be promoted to a moderator. This is the second promotion poll for macaoidh, as there was a previous poll back in March in which the result was a no (click here for details).

So, if you're in my team please vote. If not, you can express an opinion if you wish.

Also, don't forget to post in this thread to say that you have voted.

Hi everyone

I have moved this thread from the moderators forum because I would like to have a further opinion on whether to promote macaoidh (Jake) or not.

I would like to ask for further discussion on his promotion as part of me feels that he is ready to be promoted.

The votes currenly indicate 0 yes vs 3 no (trainee moderators poll 2 yes vs. 1 no). I haven't put my vote in as yet. However, I feel that those who have voted may have felt that there are too many moderators already and as a result we do not need any more (and I know you all probably feel the same way too). My opinion is that there are (too?) many moderators at the moment, with some possibly still a little inexperienced and possibly not deserving of the role as yet.

I had PM'd him asking for a bit of background on his experience. Here are some of the more relevant extracts:

Well I am a 18 year old college student who started collecting in 2004.

I only collect autographs from my favorite celebrities and before every request I look up different information about that particular person. All the requests that I have sent out and all of the information I have read about each person, I feel, has made me much more knowledgeable in the field of collecting and I would like to bring my knowledge to help other collectors and users of fanmail.biz. I know I have only used the site for over a year but I do go on each and everyday and check successes out and make sure nothing bad is going on like people spamming or posting things that do not relate to autograph collecting.

As I post, he currently has 207 posts and I would assume he will be a responsible member of the team should he join. I have not seen any trouble from him in the past.

Your opinions are welcome and will help decide whether he is promoted this time around.
