Should we impose a limit on the # of Request an Address post

Hi all
I thought that maybe we should impose a limit on the number of requests a user can make on the regular Request an Address forum.
There are many members that request a page full of addresses in a day, and never post feedback.
I was thinking something along the lines of:
No more than 10 per month, without at least 1 feedback post.
Suggestions?

Hi Daniel
As much as I'd like to click "Why Did You Bother To Make This Post" (just kidding -

), you do have a point here.

The problem is, there's going to be some difficulty in enforcing this rule. At the very least, there should be a daily limit set.
I think the rules for requesting addresses should be made a little clearer - and probably make the "How to find a celebrity address in the database?" more noticable - as I think it's being ignored one way or another.
Members are obviously finding it easier to just post their request rather than searching for it. Perhaps there should be another announcement (or an expansion of the current announcement) to illustrate another way of searching for addresses (e.g. "Celebrity's Name" site:
www.fanmail.biz on Google).

You do have a point.
I agree with you that many of the requests that are made, are made before the member looks for it in the database.
Remember mikenaur? He was the worst person about that.
I like the idea of a daily limit better. Perhaps 1 or 2 per day?

[agree] - mikenauer kept requesting addresses from the database
One thing that needs to be improved would probably be the way addresses are searched for in the database - this will reduce the number of requests made.
It would be a good idea to set a limit - maybe at most 2 or 3 (maybe more).

Hi everyone
What do you think of?:
2 requests per day per person.
No more than 10 per month, without at least 1 feedback post.

[agree] with 2 requests per day.
However, the second restriction (10 per month without at least 1 feedback post) is difficult to enforce.
Additionally, "feedback post" - can be very subjective in meaning. Does it mean make a post in the Feedback forum, or post details of a success / failure?
Furthermore, what about those members on dry spells? It'll be a bit unfair to those who are unlucky enough not to receive anything as they won't be able to request new addresses.

I had thought about the same thing....and I was thinking maybe we should drop the "without a feedback post"

They can use the 91,500 addresses in the database. 10 address requests per month per person (1 every 3 days) is quite enough
1 feedback for 10 address requests is quite reasonable to me
What do you think guys?

I'll agree to it.
It seems resonable enough.
