Ben Whishaw VV Success!

On May 25, 2013: I sent a Shakespearean (Hamlet) postcard for Ben from me and my sister, two 4x6 photos (one for my sister and myself) and a SASE to the venue of

"Peter and Alice" (NO LONGER VALID!)

Today (July 1, 2013): I received both photos back signed in my SASE.

I was so happy to get these back! Ben Whishaw is my favorite Shakespearean actor and I'm so proud that he won the BAFTA TV award for best leading actor of 2013 for "The Hollow Crown: Richard II"! My sister and I congratulated him on that and I also told him I wrote him an actual letter via his agency earlier this year, so I hope to hear from there as well!
My photo got smudged by the envelope. (What is with us an smudged photos?!) Perhaps, that one wasn't dry enough as the other one was. Or maybe matte doesn't absorb permanent marker well? Tips? Or is it the signer's fault?

Congrats, chica! Very cool, and love the photos. As for them smudging, hmmm...Maybe it just wasn't thoroughly dried before it was popped into the envelope, or maybe the envelope got a little damp, or something. You could take a matte photo, and use a sharpie on it yourself, and see what it does.

I tried writing on a piece of matte photo paper and it absorbed pretty well after a minute or less. Methinks some people pop in the photo straight into the envelope right after they sign it (which is dumb). The envelope was in no way damp, so maybe it was just tactlessness. Oh well! Only a few of my autographs are smudged.
