Re: Mickey Rooney!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!
Gabor- he only signs IP when there's one or two people waiting, so the fans 'pushing' isn't taking place.
I don't belive the TTM sucesses to be real, they don't match IP sucesses, and his attitude, along with the attitude of the theatre staff makes my believe that his son is signing them, as Josh has said.

Re: Mickey Rooney!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!
I have seen 4-5 different signatures received thru the mail and none look like his IP signature. Besides for his IP signature trying to find a consistant TTM autograph from Mickey Rooney will drive you crazy. I did read somewhere that Jan will sign TTM for him but I don't know how reliable that was.
Re: Mickey Rooney!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!
All valid points, everyone has an opinion!
My input:
"why would he, or someone in his family, even bother to send this back to me???"
>> The same could be said for someone like John Travolta or Robin Williams! Or in fact any rumoured secretarial signer- Mickey never needs to know someone's signing for him! But of course PR comes into it!
"the man is 87 years old- who can blame him for not wanting to stand around signing dozens of autographs?"
>> His entrance into the theatre was over around a 15m gangway so about 4 or 5 of us strategically positioned ourselves so we weren't hounding him all at once. And he signed for all on his way past (even signing more than 2 or 3 each for people!). Of course he rushed through the autographs, but they were all really great examples of his signature compared to some I've seen!
"plus- the squiggly thing he normally does with his autograph - I think he just ran out of room to sign- remember, this is a 4 X 6 photo- not an 8 X 10, plus he used a think Sharpie."
>> Could be the case! I noticed Stephan got pretty much the same autograph on his 8x10s with plenty of photo to spare though! :S
"Thanks Joshh, you maybe right. A celeb, can get almost anyone to sign for them.
All thay, need to do is arrange, anyone to sign fanmail with there approval. That does seem possible."
>>
Although, I suppose Mickey doesn't even need to approve this, he never needs to see a single letter! If his son or wife is signing (to me, seems very likely) then they don't exactly need to tell him about it lol! (I'm not really sure he'd care to be honest, I'd think he'd be completely for the idea!)
You're right though Gabor, there are a lot of examples of his signature out there. I noticed a few signed Sunderland programmes on Ebay from the same seller with the same TTM signature, however I realised they were donated TTM for a charity auction so it still doesn't convince me!
The scans I posted are of his current autograph (as of 2007-2008) as opposed to some you might see that were signed 20 or more years ago!
One thing I thought- if he did sign the photos TTM, I still don't understand how the signatures would look cruder than IPs... Surely he would have more time to sign fuller if there wasn't many letters received!
But of course that post is my opinion, and they're your autographs so I must still congratulate you for getting the photos back regardless of what some of us might think about the signatures!

Re: Mickey Rooney!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!
I found this 1990 scan which still has many similarities, mainly the 'R' and the squiggles towards the end which go back over to the right:

Congrats - great success
Re: Mickey Rooney!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!
Autograph might be sloppy but looks near on exactly like the ones I managed on a few occasions over last winter in the UK (In-person) so I'm still going for the ones received in the post are being signed by his son (agent) or wife Jan.
