Warren Cromartie (former MLB) VV Success!!!

A fellow sports collector from the Chicago area did a "private signing" with several athletes who attended the Chicago Sun-Times memorabilia show (I think it was November 21). One of the participants was former MLB and Japan League player Warren Cromartie (Warren is also manager of a Japanese team, featured on a "reality show").

This was an opportunity to get a unique item signed. So......I sent him my CD cover of the Rush album "Signals". On the backside of the cover art is a blueprint of a school called "Warren Cromartie Progressive School". (Geddy Lee is a HUGE baseball fan, so it makes sense that he'd name a player....and in 1981, Cromartie was a highly touted player for the Expos).
When I got my CD cover, I noticed that Warren had not only signed, but out of the blue added his #49 and "EXPOS!". I asked the "guru" to ask Warren a couple of questions for me but he forgot to. However, he DID note Warren's reaction when he passed my item to him to sign: Warren smiled and said, "Now THIS is my pride and joy!" The "guru" managed to ask him how often he's signed this CD cover (or the vinyl cover) and Warren said "Not that many". It's also interesting to note that of all the 25 (or so) items that Cromartie signed, my item was the ONLY time he added any kind of inscription, and he did it all on his own.

The item was sent to my contact's home address, so I cannot share that address with you.

When my scanner is working again, I will post a pic of the CD cover. VERY COOL!!!!! :)
Hell was full, so I came back.
