It's been a long time since the play finished. I guess what happened was your neighbor or the post office actually delayed this mail, so it arrived now instead of 2 months ago.

It doesn't make sense if Daniel still reply fanmails from US.

I think they said that the neighbor had mail that actually belonged to their house and had just never given it to them until the mother went over there and they remembered. I'm sure it was received a long time ago and the neighbor just remembered they had it.
