Spamalot cast (Clay Aiken) PLUS single CLAY AIKEN success

Another Spamalot success for me 8) Back in October 2008 I received my 1st success

I know I know I know... It's not the best way to request loads of autographs in a short period of time BUT I have an explanation *angel*

I wanted to know if they passed on fanmail plus I've seen some black and white playbills on ebay and asked if they had one of those left. They didn't have any and sent me 2 colored playbills instead. So it's not "my fault" ;) You get my point, don't you :P

They also wrote a note which said:

Janet:
We do not have any Black & White Playbills at the moment that have been signed.
We can take fanmail for people currently in the cast but cannot forward it once they leave the show.
- Thank you

address used: Shubert Theatre, 225 W. 44th St., New York, NY 10036, USA (no longer valid)

I think, it's really cool that they sent me this little note. I was curious because I've sent a letter to Clay via Spamalot back in October but hadn't received anything back. When I got this reply I resent my request. But now I'm not sure whether it's one of the 3 photos I sent back in October (Oct 21, 2008) or whether it's one single photo I sent sometime in December (I didn't make a note  )
Anyways, it arrived Jan 5, 2009 8) Unfortunately withouit inscription but I'M HAPPY AS HELL!!!!

Is it me, or does the second playbill have a different Clay Aiken auto? That does not look autopenned to me

Picture and 1st autographed playbill might be AP - though the second signed one looks like an authentic signature to me

The photo might be autopenned but I don't think the playbills are. His singnatures almost always look exactly the same if you ask me... When I received my first two playbills with my first success some also assumed they're autopenned. But when I put one on top of the other in photoshop there were slightly differences. I guess we'll never really know

But thanks for your comments {thumb2}

we have had this discussion - Clay aikens playbill signatures are authentic, not autopenned.

I'm not saying anything about his picture, I'll have to look into that.

As Selise said, the playbills are not autopenned. The only reason a Clay Aiken playbill would be autopenned would be if YOU sent him one now that he has left the show and the show is over, and his agency does that. I'm not sure about the picture, but the playbills are def. authentic!

Colour playbills are always more valueable, unless they are from Roundabout Theatre Company (or Manhattan Theatre Club) which only do Black & Whites. They made a special Clay Aiken black & white one for some odd reason, but there was nothing too special about it -- it was black & white, whoo. I'd personalyl rather have one in colour :) so congrats!

And rayelizwright, unfortunately Spamalot closed on Sunday, January 11.
