I've been lurking on these boards for a while now and although I wouldn't call myself an avid collector of autographs, I do enjoy getting them. I'm also a huge fan of American Idol and have received in-person autographs from many of the past finalists, but never through the mail. So when I heard about people writing to some of the Idols while they were on the show and receiving autographs back, I thought that'd be an interesting thing to try this year.

I wrote to three of my favorites this year - Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, and Adam Lambert and today, I received something from Adam (Quite unexpectedly too, since I haven't heard of many successes from him)!

SENT: 03/06/09 (Letter and SASE)
RECEIVED 04/17/09 (He used my SASE and printed out a quite pixelated picture of himself on light paper, LOL. I couldn't send anything because my desktop computer and connecting printer is really messed up at the moment )

OH MY GOSH! HE IS MY FAVE IDOL!! CONGRATS!!!!! I sent to him on April 4th along with a few others. I really hope I get mine back as well! GREAT SUCCESS!!

Holy cow He not only replied to your letter but also printed out an own photo (not the best quality but he did... ^^). Maybe he doesn't like our pictures lol We should send one more request without any Kidding :razz:
I'm still waiting for mine as well. Sent out 2 letters so far. If I don't hear back from him while the show is still running I'll probably try out a venue when they're on tour...
