Very nice success! {thumb2}
How long is the addy good for? And what all did you send? I assume you included two photos and a LOR, but did you also include a SASE?
I am wondering if she'll accept money for return postage? I guess the only way to find out is to try.

Hi there . The play finishes on the 19th of May - so you should still have time .
I sent the photo and the video cover , and included a SASE - obviously I am in the UK so can get hold of stamps . Maybe if you include a card backed envelope , but enclose a £5 note it will be fine - it may not be the easiest thing for her to find an envelope in the middle of London , and it should only cost about £3-4 to post a card-backed envelope and couple of photos to Canada .
She seems very nice - returned this one within the week , and when I was in London a few weeks ago I did the Stage Door and she came out smiling and signed 3 things for me {thumb2}

Thanks for the info, tansternant.
She does sound like she loves her fans.
I have sent money and a SAE in the past, but I usually see successes that sent money, or IRC's, first. Sometimes they will reply from a venue when you send money, but I can see not all celebs have the time to run around to the post office.
It usually costs $3-4 US for return, depending on the weight. I always have it weighed first and make sure I include enough to pay for returning it. On rare occassions they return my money.
She sounds like she would return my photos. I hope she does.

I would have thought the theatre has plenty of envelopes for when they do mailshots.tansternant wrote:it may not be the easiest thing for her to find an envelope in the middle of London
Good luck with your request, nightowl

They tend to just mail these in small envelopes , not card-backed ones , and , after getting photos through the post with no protection , would rather supply my own - you want to see my Sophie Loren signed piece of crumpled paperstellar_fuse wrote:I would have thought the theatre has plenty of envelopes for when they do mailshots.tansternant wrote:it may not be the easiest thing for her to find an envelope in the middle of London

Yes, that's "always" a good idea to include cardboard. That's what I have done right from the beginning, when I started collecting. When I kept reading in the forums about all these people's autographs coming back mangled, I figured I was going to do whatever I could to prevent that.
That's why all my letters cost so much for return postage. But it is worth it! I have had very few bent, or crumpled, autographs. They usually come back in perfect condition. {thumb2}

With the Sophia Loren , I enclosed lots of card , but she took it out to save on postage
. I have to say that I might not have included enough , but am not sure about Swiss postage
Re: MARY ELIZABETH MASTRANTONIO - Theatre in London
Every time I send to a foreign country I just go on google and look up that country's post office.
I take what will be "returned" to me only, my return envelope, my photos, and my cardboard, and have it weighed at my post office. Then I go online to the foreign post office and look up how much it will cost to mail my letter from there back to me. You can just find your size of envelope, where it's going to (your country), and then type in the weight in grams.
It will give a variety of ways to send it. Usually I choose the cheapest, but on rare occasion I'll pay a bit more for priority mail.
Then just do a conversion to your money by googling Swiss Francs to British Pounds, etc.
When I sent to Sophia it was 3.80 CHF Economy (10-20 days M-F) 69-80 grams ($3.86 CAD), or 5.50 CHF Priority (3-7 days M-F) 69-80 grams ($5.59 CAD).
Of course that was a while ago now, so the prices have probably gone up, and the exchange would be different.
