It seems like everybody is getting "Harry Potter" successes lately, so I'm very pleased to add my own to the mix. I sent out to the fantastic Fiona Shaw, who plays Aunt Petunia in the films, about a month ago when she was appearing in the show "Mother Courage and Her Children" in London (it ended this past weekend, I believe). The signature is beautiful and I couldn't be happier... the only minor qualm I have is that I recently switched to a new photo paper that apparently sticks to the envelope if it gets a little wet. The envelope flakes flick off of the photo fairly easily, though, and the scan makes it look about three times worse than it really does. I only sent out three "unguarded" photos with this new paper, two of which have returned looking great, and from now on I'll just include a little protective piece of cardboard to keep the photos safe and everything will be fine. Ah, the ever-adapting hobby of autographs.
