Jerry Seinfeld VV failure w/note

Jerry Seinfeld was performing at a venue in Michigan earlier last week. I contacted the General Manager to see if I could send a photo and she said I certainly could.
After coming home from work today I see my sase postmarked from Michigan and opened it with some excitement only to see my photo unsigned with a note from the General Manager which said:
Eric,
We received your photo in time for Jerry's performance Thursday night. After Jerry was done performing I was able to give your photo to him and asked him to sign. Jerry refused and said he wasn't signing autographs in a rude tone. We're very sorry and please accept our apologies.
Sincerely,
Diana Barribeau
Better luck next time I guess. Why does Jerry Seinfeld have to be such a jerk? Outside of "Seinfeld" the guy has done absolutely nothing.

Wow, this is very unusual for someone in her position to remark on his rudeness like this. Either she didn't write it or Jerry was an excessive jerk to the point that it pushed her beyond professional limits.

This surprises me because a venues staff always forwards fan mail onto the celebrity’s management, if at all, and allows them to do with it as they wish. It's then the managements choice whether or not a celebrity sees the fan mail (Jerry’s management is really good with this). I think this venues staff, especially Ms. Barribeau, committed a felony by opening Mr. Seinfeld’s mail without his or his management’s permission and asking for an autograph on your behalf. This is not how things are done professionally. Unfortunately, I don't think Jerry ever saw your photo, nor denied staff the autograph. Can I please have the name of the venue; I want to make sure I never write there

. I can tell how unprofessional the staff is just by reading what the GM wrote in the letter. I might have not even been the GM; it could have been a disgruntled employee with beef against Mr. Seinfeld or the venue. Who knows? Jerry has been really good with fan mail lately. I think this was a prank and you were unlucky enough to be on the receiving end. This has happened before with different celebrities at other venues. Sorry about the disappointment.

Jerry is pretty good with his fan mail, it sounds as though Jerry was under the impression that GM wanted Jerrys auto, not you. I'm sure if Jerry had gotten your letter, you would have gotten an auto, In the recent past, Jerry has even held onto his fanmail, up to 2 weeks on the road and signed when he got the time. If he's been willing to carry around our letters with him so he can sign when he gets the chance, I'm sure Jerry never knew about you writing. I would try him again
PS, I'm sure Jerry doesn't sign that much in person because if stops to sign, a crowd will gather and he'll be trapped, I've seen it happen to celebs before

That's what I'm starting to think also. Had Jerry signed for the GM she probably would have kept my photo and not sent it back to me.
Guess I'll have to try a different venue.
