I sent a letter with an autograph request to Ron Howard on July 3 2010 to the Fanmail biz address;
9465 Wilshire Blvd
7th Fl
Beverly Hills, CA 90212

It came back today, July 8 2010, with word REFUSED in bright letters and slashes across the front of my envelope. ???

Just my opinion but maybe he no longer accepts fanmail. Not him personally but maybe his management,etc say no more fanmail. It probably isn't deliberate or anything like that. Don't take it personal.... Not everyone can answer fanmail and maybe he had a situation where creepy fans or had a stalker and no longer accepts fanmail. So many reasons but I highly doubt he is a jerk.

I have heard he is a great guy, actually! I dare say it was his management, or someone else who "refused"

Isn't "Refused" just a common reason/alternative for "RTS"? Perhaps he's no longer with that agency?

That is what I thought. I do not think it is literally Ron Howard saying "Nah, I refuse to sign"

How can you post such a title to your topic, honestly???
I you were as nice to him in your letter as you are now ... well no wonder ...
But I think too that "refused" means RTS
... and if he decided not to sign anymore, it's his decision isn't it? You should respect that.

He seems nice in interviews but who knows. He hasnt signed ttm since I have collected. I do hold celebrities in higher regard when they actually take the time to open their mail and do the little things to be good to their fans. Since those fans sending pictures are the ones that are watching the movies and keeping these people in business it should be done much more than it is.

Every celeb has a million excuses why they dont sign but in the end they are just unwilling. Peyton Manning signs and hes as busy as any entertainer right now and has a valuable signature (since another common excuse is that their signatures are being put on Ebay)

Most current celebrities have no time to answer fanmail. If you ever meet Ron In-Person, he couldn't be any nicer.

Ron has been here in Chicago since April & will be until late August filming "Cheaters". Maybe he stopped mail service or management doesn't want to hold a bunch of fanmail while he's not there.
