I'm so excited about this one! I wrote to Mr. Rickman while he was performing Ibsen's "John Gabriel Borkman" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. I thought it would be a great opportunity since I have yet to send any requests to anyone internationally. I sent it on January 30th, and I knew he was only in the play for about another week, so I wasn't for sure that I'd even get it to him in time. As February was starting to wrap up, I had pretty much given up, but yesterday, this showed up! Probably my second favorite signature I've received after John Williams.

Thanks, Ryan! It was because of your post and chris32's post that I found out he was in New York and was able to write to him in time.

Geoffrey Rush started a play at the BAM Harvey Theatre just after Alan Rickman left, I've written and am hoping to hear back from him, as well!

Alan is an incredible actor, known to give a unique touch to each of his characters.

I have been absolutely gutted all day long at the loss of the great Alan Rickman. This was one of my earliest successes, one of my all time favorites. I remember being so excited to receive this in the mail, to think that for a second, he was thinking of me. That really kicked off this hobby for me. I just can't believe he's gone. I will treasure this and all of his performances on film. You will be missed, Mr. Rickman.
