Sent: 22nd February 2011
Received: 11th August 2011
Sent LOR, SSAE and two photos

Address used: (No longer valid)
Keira Knightley
c/o Comedy Theatre
Panton Street
London
SW1Y 4DN

I received 2x PP, and a note from her office saying how she can't always reply to requests individually, but that she has read my letter.
I'm a bit disappointed that she didn't sign my photos plus I didn't even get them back, but a PP is better than nothing! :)

Nice! :D Atleast you got something back, it's honestly pretty hard to get her

Try IMPOSSIBLE to get her! If you can't even get her over a 3-4 month play, then you'll never get her! (at least not anytime soon)

I guess the only way you're sure to get her is in person! :) {up}

Call me crazy, selfish, whatever have you... I am one of those that would rather get nothing at all or an RTS rather than a PP! I just toss them anyway, as they are useless to my collection!

I agree with you that it can be frustrating though when you waste time and stamps only to get a pre-print. However, I find pre-prints helpful because their a nice comparison for your authentic ones. You know the preprint is real, just copied. Unless the person's signature you have is inconsistent in signing, it can be difficult and the preprint is useless. But many stars do keep the same/similar signature for a long time as other stars change it. Some of it has to do with work schedule, how pressed for time they are, some maybe even like to experiment with their signature. Also, I think their cool, especially when their free. HAHA!

Btw, don't mean to open a can of worms but I know there was that whole debate about Keira Knightley's previous ttm's being secretarial when she used to have the presigned ones. Were those really secretarial? The reason I say this is why would a secretary forge all those after all that time just to start sending pre-prints NOW? For example; Kate Winslet is involved with the same company who does Keira's mail as well. However, Kate has sent pre-prints for as long as I can remember (Once in a while, I saw an authentic through a movie set). Regardless, it seems it would have made more sense to have pre-printed ones like Kate Winslet's than for her secretary to forge all those presigned ones. The only argument I can think of against all I said is that I am sure there are multiple people handling the mail...but if an autograph is secretarial, doesn't that mean the star gave permission to do that, or are they unaware of it all?

Sorry for all the questions but it's interesting to know. lol :P Any thoughts/opinions/etc...are appreciated.

The comparison thing is an interesting idea! I never really thought of PPs being useful in that way. I've already tossed all the PPs I've gotten!!  I guess I just throw them out in a fit of rage, haha. Ok, I don't get that angry, but it just pisses me off because I'd SO much rather get my stuff returned so I can try another time! I hate that they waste my precious return stamps just to send me something fake. At least Keira's assistant returned my photo though, which was nice.

I personally never thought Keira's TTMs were fake.. I just didn't see huge difference between the apparent "secs" and her real signature! To me, they always looked pretty identical :? So I'm not sure where the sec thing started. I think people just began assuming they were secs, but of course, we have never received confirmation of that. By the same token, you bring up an interesting point. If it was indeed a secretary signing all those photos, why wouldn't the secretary just continue? Why would they switch to PPs?
It's like the Kate Beckinsale thing. People started this whole thing years ago that the replies from her fanmail address were secs. But honestly, I barely see a difference between her apparent "secs" and her real signature.
Also, I personally believe that the stars are unaware of their secretaries or whoever forging their signatures. I like to believe that if the celeb knew about this, they wouldn't approve!

Thanks for your comment(s). Yeah, pre-prints can have a use. lol :P But I understand why some are annoyed. I was pretty mad when I got chistina aguilera's autograph because it appeared to be a pre signed photo as was believed by many others only to find out it was an autopen and that her secretary had multiple different autopens. I'm getting to fool fans which if that's the case, is not right.

And yeah, I wonder where the Keria secretary thing started. It seems to make more sense that she presigned some until she couldn't do it anymore due to her schedule and the secretary decided to have one original and send preprints of it so it was better than not responding to her fans. Any other opinions/ideas????
