I sent the cast a letter, photo, and SASE on September 1, 2011 to a hotel they were staying in at Canada while they were filming.
I received my photo back today signed by:

That is a neat success. Did you address the envelope to the cast in general, or did you write to one actor and ask them to have their fellow cast members sign it too?

I wonder why more people don't try hotels and such if an tipster says '[Insert actor's name] has been spotted staying at the local Marriott in Baton Rouge' or whatnot. There would be a higher possibility of people scoring VV successes since it goes directly to the actors and not being forwarded through a production company. (Of course, that depends on if the hotel in general forwards mail.)
