On 13.03 there was Thomas Anders concert in Germany.

Sent: 08.03.2006
Rcvd: 30.03.2006

I sent 2 photos + letter + IRC + SAE to the concert venue:

Gloria Theather
Apostelnstrasse 11
50667 Koln
Germany

I received my photos back signed and a postcard signed in silver sharpie!

There is a strange thing about this one - I sent an IRC which I thought is normally changed to stamps. Instead of it it was sticked to the back side of envelope with sticky tape and there were no stamps on the envelope  What's more, the IRC was not stamped by the German post office, the stamp is on the front of the envelope (so if I'm careful I'll have my IRC back and use it again  ). IS THIS NORMAL?? I didn't know it works like that.

Wow great success! And awesome that you got your IRC back like that - it is definitely NOT normal!

Here is a description of how IRCs are meant to work, from the Australian Post website:
The recipient can redeem the coupon at a post office in the destination country. It can be redeemed for stamps to the value of sending a small letter up to 50g by air mail to any country in the world.

Some countries redeem International Reply Coupons for postal stationery.

As long as I get my photos back signed I don't really care how they arrive to me

Maybe this is also the way IRC can be used in European Union?
