Martin Freeman VV Failure

On
June 7, 2013: I sent three letters (one from me, my sister, and my best friend), three 4x6 photos, and a SASE to the venue of
"The Hobbit" (NO LONGER VALID for Martin Freeman! He left the set on July 12, 2013)
Today
(July 19, 2013): I received EVERYTHING back (nothing was signed) with a note from one of "The Hobbit" casting department's employees in my SASE.
The note:
My SASE:
I am so upset over this. He's currently my 2nd most wanted, but I know he has been hard to get since "Sherlock" and now it's even harder since "The Hobbit"! He probably read all the letters from what the note says, but he probably was too busy and had too much fan mail to sign my photos. I for one, am not really surprised. As soon as I saw two recent successes from Martin, I had a feeling he didn't sign mine since I usually get NZ mail before most other people... At least the employee was kind enough to send all my stuff back with a nice Smaug note. Better than a normal RTS, but still disappointing. And you can't do a normal RTS if the letter was opened, so that's proof he did read the letters. Oh, well. I'll just resend to another venue since he doesn't really sign (he tends to only read the letters) via his agency. My condolences to all the other people who are now probably going to get the same result that I did.

My dear, I am so sorry for that. I really don't know what to say, or why was Martin unable to sign your photos. But I promise there I will help you to find another VV address for him. I swear. And I know I can't help you now. BUT I will pm you with quite strange( means little unusual) thing. Answer when you will feel better. You have received sooo many beatiful The Hobbit successes. That's one of the reasons to feel better. And you have friends here who will help you right now or later.

Awwww!

So sorry that you got it all back! It IS very nice that they included a note with everything, and that it seems he read your letter. But I know it must still be so very disappointing!!!!!

I'll probably get the same thing soon.

Hey! Im sure youll get him one day! I think this is very nice of the employee to write you that note and im sure he must like your letter cause i dont think that others will get this. I sent the same day you did so the rts is probably coming... But i think that now, after hobbit, we'll have enough chances to try him. And hes a good VV signer so head up ;)

Awwww I'm sorry!!! I sent to him on June 26th, so I'm sure I was too late as well.
We'll have to try him via another venue. At least they sent back your photos so you could re-use them. That's a great little note they included as well.

Sorry about your failure. You should try via Sherlock. I heard from someone else on here that this is where he will be filming next. I found the address rather quickly.

If it makes you feel better you can always pretend that Benedict wrote the note, since he is Smuag and all that.......

Clearly the dragon at the top indicates that it is from his desk

Thanks for all the concern, everyone! I hope everyone gets all their stuff back so they could try again, too. I know there is always hope, and I'm going to try via "Sherlock". I hope he does sign this time. It's kind of pity he did read my letters, because I hate re-sending when actors have already read something from me. It's a good thing another friend of mine is asking me to send a letter to him for her, so I'll just be requesting...politely... *crossing fingers*

Haha! His handwriting is FAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRR from the writing in the note. It would be a miracle if Benedict could write that neat! I do love the dragon, though! I wonder if that's what Smaug's body looks like! Well, I already sent to BC via "The Hobbit" as well but I haven't received anything... He just left NZ a few days ago, so I'm hoping...

Thank you! I know, that is something to be very grateful for! I'm glad I sent to most of the cast as well!
And I am feeling a bit better, despite the fact that I got a RTS from Orlando Bloom.

I'm sorry to hear that, my dear.
I also believe that you will succeed in the end!

Good luck!!!
