Steve Carell response (Not sure if authentic)

Back in October I believe I sent Steve Carrell as LOR, DVD cover, Stamps to a production address of the film "Freeheld" he was filming out on Long Island, NY. Being that I live in NYC i figure Id try. Today, 12/10/14, i received my return envelope back with no postage whatsoever. It says Postage due. I also received back my dvd cover, and my letter and stamps. I received a stock photo of Mr. Carrell signed. Now the signature certainly not a Autopen, however im skeptical of an authentic signature. It looks similar to the signature I have found on the internet. I just find it odd that that they wouldnt sign my dvd cover or even use my stamps. If anyone could give me some insight on this it would be appreciated. I do not remember the address I used, however they have stopped filming back in Novemeber. I am going to send my dvd cover to the address in the database and hope for a response to compare signatures.

I think he pre-signs photos and someone else sends them out on his behalf. I sent to his PO Box in MA and I got an autographed picture that was provided to me. Although I didn't send anything for him to sign, I think I remember seeing someone on here who tried sending something for him to sign there, but it came back unsigned along with an autographed picture.
Regarding the stamps, the person sending the picture might not have known to put two and two together.
I do think your autograph might be real though.

It's authentic. I have seen several successes that look like that. He sends out photos that are pre-signed. I have one but a different photo. I have seen very few successes where he signs an item you send. The signature still matches those examples.

I also sent him a pic and got the pre-signed pic back. I also wasn't sure if it was autopen or just pre-signed. I looked at yours and mine side by side, and while it's the same picture and looks to be a same at first, on closer inspection, the position of both of ours are in different spots and the s curves up more on mine and the c doesn't go past the initial loop like it does on yours. I think we both have authentic pre-signed successes!
