Hey everybody!
I am so happy right now! Yesterday when I opened my mailbox I got so scared because I saw my envelope, but it had the return address of the venue. So I thought to myself, oh man I must have sent it out too late and they are returning my pictures unsigned - but I was so pleasantly surprised when I opened it and saw both of my pictures signed, one just the signature, because it is a really dark picture and you wouldn't be able to see anything else, and the 2nd one was personalized!!! Here is the info:
- Sent: September 5th
- Due to Perform: September 7th
- Received Back Signed Pictures: September 13th
- Address Used:
Nokia Theatre
1515 Broadway
New York, NY 10012
I will definitely post pictures later

i have a question, should i be sending my requests two days before the concert? i always sned mine a couple weeks before, and ive gotten some great successes, but i'm wondering if i'd get more....

If you send them too early, I suppose there's always the possibily that they will disregard them or return them. If you wrote something like, "Please hold until ______ arrives" then they might give it to the performer upon their arrival. However, I find it best to send letters so they get there a few days before the performance.
By the way, themohawkgirl, was it you who said they had the Dresden Dolls autographs, or was that someone else? If it is you, I am very jealous

hey guys...
i totally agree with Joey - the only reason I sent my request to him 2 days earlier was because it only had to be delivered 7 blocks since I live so close to the venue, and sending it through the post office I knew it would get there for that day
i dont really have a lot of experience with the whole via venue thing because this was the first one I sent out and my first success but I am planning on sending a bunch out this month and next month so I will definitely tell ya'll how it goes
but back to the point... I think you should send them out 1 or 2 weeks before the concert, no earlier than that - the venue is already doing us the favor of passing on the letter, you wouldn't want to burden them with trying to look after your letter too

i think 1 week is enough so that if a delay occurs it will still get there - however if its someone you really adore, i say 2 weeks just in case
hope that helps
