I sent a CD case to Damien Rice in care of the Murat Center, where
he had a concert scheduled in May.

The people at Murat were gracious enough to forward my envelope
to Rice's people, so kudos to them. They are fantastic.

I received my CD case back today along with my letter with a note
written on it, presumably by Rice's tour manager. It said:

"Damien does not sign anything and that goes for everyone."

I don't mind if a celeb/singer/athlete chooses not to sign (that's their right), but you would think they and/or their staff could be a bit more tactful in their response or they could alienate fans. I know I won't be buying his next CD.

That sucks. I sent a photo to him about 3 weeks ago, c/o a venue and haven't got it back yet. In interviews, he seems like a bit of a jerk. I guess this confirms that feeling somewhat.
