I hand-delivered a letter, SASE and two photos to the stage entrance at the Birmingham/Jefferson Civic Center (Alabama) when she was appearing in "Sweet Charity" 3 or 4 months ago. The security guard allowed me to put it in the stack of incoming mail for the production.
(I live here, so it's the most reliable way to deliver vv requests for me)

No response.

I have sent 3 or 4 things to the BJCC and have yet to ever hear from them.
Im thinking they just dont pass on the mail.

its not really a failure, there is still a possibility of you getting an autograph, it just may take longer than expected.

I'm not optimistic as it was a 4 or 5 day engagement, long gone..

And as for the venue passing it on, it's just easier to go down there. The security folks are real helpful. In truth, it's my only attempt via venue there.

yes but a lot of times, the celeb will take their fanmail with them, so you might not hear back as soon as you expected to.
